Wire-on-tube condensers are critical components in modern cooling systems. They consist of a serpentine Bundy tube with low-carbon steel wires spot-welded to both sides. Heat transfers from the hot refrigerant inside the tube, through the tube wall, and out along the steel wires, which function as extended cooling fins.
